Frequently asked questions
What are speed maths tests?
Short, timed mental-maths quizzes. Each test asks 10 questions on one topic, such as the 13 times table or squares up to 50, and gives you a score and a time at the end.
How are the tests scored?
Answer 8 or more of the 10 questions correctly to pass. The clock runs for the whole test, and your best time for each test and level is saved on your own device.
Which levels are there?
Every test has Easy, Medium and Hard. For example, the 13 times table test goes from 13 × 1 to 13 × 10 on Easy, up to 13 × 25 with division on Hard.
How can I get faster at mental maths?
Learn the times tables to 12 and then to 20, know your squares to 20 and cubes to 10, estimate before you calculate, and practise for a few minutes every day. Each test page lists tricks for its own topic.
