How to learn the 9 times table
- Use 10 × n − n: 9 × 7 = 70 − 7 = 63.
- For 9 × 1 to 9 × 10 the digits of the answer always add up to 9 (9 × 4 = 36, and 3 + 6 = 9).
- Finger trick: hold up ten fingers and fold down the nth one. The fingers to its left are the tens, the fingers to its right are the units.
- The units digit of the answers repeats every ten steps: 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. If your answer ends in anything else, check it again.
